Junior Solar Sprint Teacher Training Workshop. FREE Print

Middle school teachers and educators from Berkshire area schools are invited to register for a free Junior Solar Sprint  (JSS)      Teacher Training Workshop on February 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Reid Middle School in Pittsfield. The workshop is offered by the Center for Ecological Technology (CETsm).              


   The Junior Solar Sprint brings together students in grades 6-8 from Berkshire area schools, including southern Vermont and eastern NY, to design solar-powered model cars. The students form teams and use math, science and technology, along with their creativity and teamwork to learn about designing the transportation possibilities of tomorrow.


   Teacher Training Workshop attendees will receive free curriculum materials, including JSS lesson plans, and a free vehicle kit to build during the workshop. Participants will also receive a letter of attendance for educational professional development and get a chance to win a raffle for a photovoltaic panel donated by Pitsco. Food and
 beverages will be provided.
